Featured Workshop
This week we're featuring Making Small Moments Matter: Highlighting Care and Belonging, a workshop created and facilitated by Ana Valle Rivera, a public speaker, TEDx speaker, a consultant, and the founder of Early Years Thriving. Since 2007, she has worked in various capacities in the early years field to support children, families, and educators.
In this workshop, Ana shares the story of her master's work at Blossoming Niños childcare program. This workshop serves as an overview of the inquiry project that was carried out during her pedagogist internship. The inquiry project into care and belonging began with observing ordinary moments. Ana noticed how deeply care was shown for some people, places, materials and more-than-human worlds (like a ladybug) and not so much for others (like a spider). These moments of care were turned into vignettes (short stories) to think with and reflect upon. Thinking with reciprocity, complexity, and the messiness of care led to thinking about belonging and how we each belong in community regardless of our differences.

This workshop introduces early childhood educators to Trauma Sensitive Pedagogy (TSP) for creating safe, supportive, and predictable learning environments. Participants will explore how trauma affects young children’s behaviour and development. Together, we will look into practical strategies—such as co-regulation and sensory supports as the way to respond to challenging moments with empathy and effectiveness.

The online Administration & Management for Child Care (AMCC) course provides a comprehensive overview of all aspects of leadership development.
Our 40-hour Instructor-Guided online course is delivered and guided by expert instructors with years of experience in child care and has been specially designed to support and strengthen innovative practices in leadership.
We also offer a 12-hour Self-Guided version with unlimited spaces available. You can study any time and at your own pace. Learn more about both courses and how to register on our AMCC page.
To support the course, we have also created the AMCC Knowledge Base, a comprehensive online information database for ECE leaders with detailed guidance on all areas of child care leadership.

Fees for online customized professional development are inclusive of facilitator fee, hosting, registration, certificates, technical support, secure Zoom access for online training, and additional learning resources, if applicable.
