Early Childhood Educator - Full Time in a New centre

East Village Kids is a ministry of West Coast Christian Fellowship, a church that has been rooted in the Hastings Sunrise neighbourhood of East Vancouver for the last 100 years. East Village Kids has a Preschool & Out of School Care facility and our newly opened Daycare with an I/T and 3-5 program.

At East Village Kids we have a strong team of educators that are driven to serve and love our community. We are looking for ECE's that are passionate to use their God-given skills to serve and love those around them.

We are a Play Based Regio Inspired facility that delights in children making their own discoveries.

We are looking for a strong and confident ECE to join our team. Someone who is excited to build relationships with the children and families in our community to best support and encourage the parents as they raise their children. 

Key Responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities:
 Responsible for the constant supervision, safety and well-being of the children.
 Works with all other staff to ensure safety and cleanliness duties are being fulfilled (i.e. sanitizing tables, laundry, playground inspections).
 Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate care and child behaviour guidance techniques.
 Planning, preparing and implementing stimulating, age-appropriate activities that encourage children’s creativity and growth and promote each child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
 Participates fully and consistently as a team member in caring for the children and in the overall operation of the program and centre; maintains regular and open communication with all other co-workers.
 Establishes and maintains regular communication with parents.
 Ensures the program operates at all times in compliance with all child care licensing standards.
 Observes and records relevant information on each child's growth.
 Shares responsibility for maintaining program equipment in good repair; assists with toy/equipment disinfecting
 Plans & Prepares the daily afternoon snack.
 Covers in Infant/Toddler room for breaks as needed.
 Participates in all emergency procedure drills and training.
 Participates in ongoing professional development.
 Participates in the supervision, training and mentoring of volunteers and students.
 Performs other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director

Salary & Benefits:

Gross Annual Salary - $48,762 ($23.40/ hour based on a 40 hour work week) plus the ECE Wage Enhancment
