Additional Qualifications:
You hold a post-secondary qualification, preferably a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Your education provides a strong theoretical base for your practical experience.
Required Experience:
You have 3-5+ years of senior-level experience managing, leading, and ideally opening multiple licensed child care programs for children aged 0-12. You've been there, done that, and are ready to take on a new challenge
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and Empowering Staff: You'll foster a positive and productive work environment by guiding all aspects of human resources, from recruitment and onboarding to professional development and performance management. You'll work closely with the Executive Director and Operations Director to ensure progressive HR practices are in place and support Program Coordinators in their HR responsibilities.
- Managing Resources for Success: You will oversee the development and management of the child care budget, and contracts, collaborating with the Executive Director and supporting Program Coordinators in managing program-specific budgets to ensure our programs have the resources they need to thrive.
- Championing Quality and Innovation: You'll be responsible for developing policies and procedures that ensure high-quality child care services aligned with CCNH's mission, values, and BC’s Early Learning Framework. You'll ensure our programs not only meet but exceed expectations, with a focus on inclusion.
- Ensuring Smooth Operations: Working closely with the Operations Team and Program Coordinators, you will establish and maintain efficient administrative practices covering everything from registration and emergency procedures to health and safety, accounting, and facility management.
- Collaborating for Collective Success: You'll actively participate in the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC Child Care Directors network, contributing to the development and implementation of effective and quality child care across the organization.
- Spearheading a New Beginning: You will play a key role in the launch of our new child care center, leading on all startup functions, including the introduction of infant/toddler and 3-5 group care.
- Building a Thriving Community: As part of the Cedar Cottage Management Team, you'll help bring CCNH's mission and values to life by building strong partnerships with organizations, neighbours, colleagues, and families, creating a true community hub where children and families flourish.
Salary & Benefits:
Wages: We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
Terms of Employment: Full time, 35 hours per week
