SAC Support Educator

Qualifications: School Age Certificate
Required Experience:
- Passion in working with children with varying abilities in an inclusive setting.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with school age children requiring support.
- ECE License to Practice or 20 hours or Responsible Adult Training or equivalent required.
- Special Needs ECE License to Practice or equivalent training and experience an asset.
- Valid First Aid, clear Criminal Record and immunization record upon hire required.
- Sound knowledge of child development and inclusive practice.
- Able to work in partnership with the families, consultants, and school team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Key Responsibilities:
- To be a part of a team that works with children ages 5-12 in a licensed school age care.
- To guide, supervise, and support a child with special needs.
- To collaborate with the program team to plan, evaluate and implement inclusive programming that is reflective of the child and groups interests and needs.
- To work in partnership with the program team and child’s family, consultant and school team in developing, evaluating and implementing the child’s care plan.
Salary & Benefits:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 20hrs per week afterschool & 8 hours per day on professional and school breaks.
- Salary: $21.36 – $24.87 depending on experience & qualifications. Plus $6 ECE Wage Enhancement for those who qualify.
