Early Childhood Director
Avant Life Early Learning Centre, a ministry of Avant Life Church, is seeking a faith-driven and experienced Early Childhood Director to lead our early learning program with excellence and efficiency. This key leadership role centers on guiding a dedicated team of educators and assistants, ensuring the program operates seamlessly while aligning with the Christian values and mission of our organization. We are looking for a candidate with a proven ability to oversee operations, inspire a team, manage finances, and pioneer new initiatives, all while leading with a Christian worldview to foster a Christ-centered environment that nurtures children, staff, and families. The ideal candidate will bring a clear vision for growth and innovation, shaping the future of our program through faith-inspired leadership and alignment with our ministry’s purpose.
Additional Qualifications:

A valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) certificate recognized in British Columbia is required.

A valid Emergency Childcare First Aid and CPR Certificate
Required Experience:

Demonstrated experience working with children, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role overseeing a team of people.

Demonstrated experience in managing finances, including budgeting and resource management

Proven ability to pioneer and implement new programs, build teams from the ground up, and engage in community mapping to identify growth opportunities.

Strong background in recruitment, training, and coaching staff, with a focus on fostering professional development and team unity.

Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for operational efficiency.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and connect with parents and community stakeholders.

Must be a practicing Christian with a deep commitment to the faith, capable of leading in alignment with the Christian values and mission of Avant Life Church as an essential requirement of this role

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to the evolving needs of a growing early learning centre.

A clear criminal record check and compliance with all licensing requirements for early childhood education in British Columbia.

Proficiency in maintaining records and using basic administrative tools to support program management.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strong, visionary leadership to a team of early childhood educators and assistants, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment rooted in Christian principles.

Ensure effective collaboration among all ECEs and ECEAs to deliver a high quality educational program that integrates the Christian faith and values of Avant Life Church as its foundation.

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the early learning centre, ensuring efficiency, safety, and a high standard of care for children from infancy to 5 years of age.

Manage program finances, including budgeting, resource allocation, and cost-effective decision-making to support the centre’s sustainability and growth.

Recruit, train, and coach staff, building a cohesive team capable of delivering exceptional care and support to children and families.

Pioneer new programs and initiatives, utilizing community mapping and outreach to expand the centre’s impact and engagement within the local and target areas.

Develop and implement strategies for staff development, including training programs, performance evaluations, and ongoing coaching to enhance team capabilities.

Ensure compliance with all provincial regulations, health and safety standards, and organizational policies, maintaining a secure and nurturing environment for children.

Collaborate with parents, guardians, and community partners to build strong relationships and address the needs of children and families.

Oversee the maintenance of records, equipment, and facilities, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming space for learning and growth.

Model and integrate the Christian values and mission of Avant Life Church into all aspects of leadership, decision-making, and community engagement, ensuring the program reflects our faith-based identity.
Salary & Benefits:
Wage: $24.00-$28.00/hour (depending on skills and experience). Additional Wage Enhancement available for those with ECE qualification
Benefits Package: Eligibility after 3 months of employment

The Early Childhood Director will report to the leadership of Avant Life Church and collaborate closely with the centre’s staff and church community.
