ECE Special Needs Teacher

Ministry contracted Special Needs Preschool

Required Experience:

The full time position requires someone who has at least one year experience in the ECE field, preferably with experience working in an inclusive setting.

We also have a part-time contracted position starting right away for Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  Same credentials required.

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to regular Preschool Teacher duties, such as:
• Supervising, guiding and caring for children at play during daily activities.
• Preparing the classroom before and after each session.
• Working independently and being a strong team player.
• Working with our staff team to provide quality, inclusive programs for our children and families.

Successful candidates will also be expected to:
• Participate in the planning and implementing of activities for children who require extra support.
• Participate in team meetings for these children; represent them and the program at other meetings that may arise.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills (in English) in order to write individual reports, assessments and plans. (2nd language is an asset)
• Have experience working with Inner City children and children who require extra support.

Salary & Benefits:

Both positions start at $24.78 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits plus the $6 WEP

The full time position may have full benefits, sick time, vacation and RRSPs after 6 months, if the position continues for another year.
