Supporting children living with anxiety
Back in February, Angel Li and Sandy Yip from WCCRC had the opportunity to join the Early Years Centre workshop Fear & Anxiety in Early Years, by Dr. Deborah Bell. Read their article to learn how to identify and provide support for anxiety in young children.
Working with LGBTQ2S+ Children and Families
In June 2017, Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre and QMUNITY received funding from the Social Planning and Projects division of the City of Vancouver, to work together on a pilot project to raise awareness amongst early learning practitioners on inclusion of trans, gender variant and Two-Spirit children and families in their programs. Kids Have Stress Too...
Recently, our CCRR staff had an opportunity to attend two Kids Have Stress Too! workshops during our annual Vancouver Coastal Regional CCRR training event offered at North Shore Community Resources. The workshops were delivered by Vikki Lepper and Susan Foisy from the Psychology Foundation of Canada.
WCCRC Child Care Wage Survey Report Available
A survey on the wages and benefits of educators and administrators working in licensed centre-based child care facilities in Vancouver was undertaken in April and May of 2018 and the report is now available!
