Yes, you are welcome to join our online workshops from anywhere in the world. However, be mindful that the information in our workshops is specific to the BC early years context and that your certificate will likely not be valid in your province or country.
Registration is online only. Visit our website, choose the workshop(s) you would like to register for and click the Proceed to Check Out button at the bottom right of the workshop page you are on. Payment can be made by credit or debit card. If it is your first time registering for our workshops, you will need to create a free account at wccrc.ca/register.
Yes. You must register online and pay to reserve your spot.
We do not offer discounted fees.
You will need to make all arrangements with your organization or agency to pay for any training fees if they are sponsoring you financially. By registering online, both you and your agency agree to and accept all our workshop policies.
We are unable to accommodate children during workshop time. Please make your own childcare arrangements.
Most of our workshops are currently online only due to the Covid 19 pandemic. We are transitioning back to some in-person workshops - check our calendar for updates and follow all required Covid protocols..
If you are interested in having group training for your team online, fill out the Customized Group Training Inquiry Form on our website and we will contact you as soon as possible.
You can also find this cancellation policy at the bottom of each workshop before registering:
- Requests for cancellations must be received at least 3 business days prior to the workshop date to get a refund, minus an Administration Fee.
- All refunds are subject to a $10 Administration Fee except for workshops or courses that are $100 or more, which have a $25 Administration Fee.
- No monies will be refunded or credits offered once the workshop starts, or if it’s missed
- Westcoast may cancel a workshop at any time. Registrants will be notified and will receive a full refund.
You should be working toward your certificate to practice renewal throughout the year. To help you plan and track your training, EYPD have developed a free tool at https://earlyyearsbc.ca.
Remember: 40 hours is the minimum number required to renew a professional ECE certificate to practice. Select topics you would like to expand on or that you're passionate about.

Yes. It is the participants’ responsibility to read the workshop/course description and objectives and make sure the training selected is suitable for their learning needs. If you have a question, email us before registering at vesna.krcmar@westcoastfamily.org. If you have questions about a workshop certificate being accepted by the ECE Registry, please contact them at 1-888-338-6622 or email them at eceregistry@gov.bc.ca
For in person workshops, there is limited 2 hour parking in front of our building, and street parking available in the neighbourhood. Please check all parking restrictions and fees before leaving your vehicle.
It will show as full in the box at the right-hand side of the screen. You can be added to a waitlist if a workshop is full. If a space becomes available and you are next in line, you will be emailed an invitation to register. The invitation email will include an expiry date and time. Once this has passed we will move to the next person on the list.
If a certificate is available for the workshop / course you can download it from your account on our website once you have completed your workshop or course. This certificate will remain available on your account and can be re-downloaded at any time for all workshops and courses starting from January 2022 onwards.

Certificates issued before this date are only able to be retrieved up to one year after they were awarded.
These are non-credit workshops and training and cannot be applied towards the completion of a certificate, diploma or degree or towards renewing and ECE Assistant certificate
Our Refund and Cancellation Policy states no monies will be refunded or credits offered once the workshop / course starts or if it’s missed and you will not receive a certificate. Workshops & courses are never recorded and there is no makeup class for any workshop / course.
No. As long as the Licensing Regulation remains the same, these certificates will be valid.
In keeping with our eco-conscious goal of reducing paper use, if there are any handouts, these will be sent by email after the course/workshop, whether it was online or in-person. Handouts for training on the BC Early Years Hub, are available on your account.
